Ode to a Neti Pot

November 12, 2009

There once was a house that fell ill

And racked up an emergency room bill.

They hacked all day and night

With no end in sight,

Thank God the Neti Pot works better than a pill.

WE LOVE YOU NETI!  Thanks for clearing up our sinuses.  You’re so much more reliable than Western Medicine!

Here’s a little educational video on how to use one:

For those who haven’t tried this before, no judging until you give it a shot.  Yeah, it feels super strange – but it works like a charm on sinus problems and allergies!   Neti pots are becoming so mainstream that you can even get one at Target!  Here’s the brand that we picked up before leaving, which includes 50 packets of the salt rinse you need to mix with the lukewarm water.  1/2 pot per nostril is our rule.  Experience the magic for yourself!

Okay, you’re the 5th person in 3 days to tout this neti pot business. Normally, I’m pretty against pouring salty liquids into my face when my mouth is not involved, but my sinuses have been making me nuts lately. I think you have just become the straw that has broken this camel’s back.

Most amazing health cure in history! If you do this daily I can almost 100% guarantee that you will not get colds, coughs, sore throats, etc. If you don’t want to use the neti pot, saline nose sprays work almost just as well.

Oh, I actually used to have to do this all the time when I got sinus infections. It’s not really bad at all. If you swallow any of the solution, it’s a little ucky if you’re not terribly keen on that lovely booger flavored salt water, but it works like a charm!!!

I’ve been using one daily for a few years – love it! And, if those packets get expensive, you can make your own “solution” by just adding 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized salt to the neti pot water.
