Sri Lanka: Now on My List of Must-Visit Places

A week ago I couldn’t have even told you where Sri Lanka was (right of the Southeastern tip of India, by the way) but now I’m checking out flights there. Why, you ask? This beautiful picture! Doesn’t this look stunning?!
Katie (of Rock Star in Dhaka) posted it on her blog recently and it’s now been upgraded to a must-visit destination for me. Doesn’t it look like Africa? But it’s not! It is stunning – don’t hesitate – just go. I had the privilege of living in Sri Lanka for a few months and fell deeply in love with the island and people.
I wish you happy travelling – Sri Lanka used to be known as ‘Serendib’ – from which comes ‘serendipity’ or ‘happy accident’ (the discovery of the island was a happy accident), I hope that your discovery of the picture that has inspired you is serendipitous indeed !
